Chrono Trigger Hits iOS, Android This Month

I always have mixed feelings when Square Enix decides to port one of their classics. Not because the games can’t withstand the test of time, but because I almost always end up buying it. The latest title to receive this treatment? The SNES classic, Chrono Trigger. This port hits Apple’s app store on December 9th, with an Android OS version set for release later this month. It’s not that I need fifty copies of Chrono Trigger, but Square Enix keeps porting it, and I keep buying new devices to play it on, so I guess its inevitable. The game certainly holds a special place in my heart, as well as the hearts of so many others who grew up playing Japanese RPGs, so I’m sure you can expect more ports in the years to come. No official price has been announced for the North American store, but I’m guessing it’ll probably retail for the same price as Secret of Mana at launch — $8.99.
