Here’s a fun rumor to chew on: Bleeding Cool is reporting that they’re hearing that Netflix’s Defenders will appear in Avengers: Infinity War Part 2. As you may already know, the Defenders are the eventual team-up of the Netflix Marvel series Daredevil, A.K.A. Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, and Iron Fist. Once this team-up happens, Bleeding Cool says they’ll help out in Infinity War Part 2. Seems like that film will be packed with heroes, if that’s true! It could be fun to see the small-screen superheroes make it to the big one. Read more…

It’s Official: Russo Brothers To Direct Avengers: Infinity War

Posted by Bob Muir on Mar 24, 2015 in Cinema, Comic Books

The Russo Brothers

In what was one of Hollywood’s worst-kept secrets, the Russo brothers have been confirmed as the directors of Avengers: Infinity War, the two-part epic that all of Marvel’s previous films have been leading to. The first two Avengers films were directed by Joss Whedon, who is stepping down to work on his own projects. Joe and Anthony Russo first directed Captain America: The Winter Soldier for Marvel, and they will begin shooting Captain America: Civil War next month. Seeing as The Winter Soldier is arguably the best Marvel film so far, I’d say the movies are in good hands. The Russo brothers will shooting both parts in one long shoot in 2016. Read more…

Russo Brothers Next Up For Avengers 3 Part 1 and 2

Speaking of Captain America, it appears that we have our most likely candidates for directing Avengers: Infinity War Part 1 and 2. Joss Whedon is wrapping up Avengers: Age of Ultron, and we’ve known for a while that he’s getting a bit tired of the whole superhero thing. Avengers 2 is his last film he’s signed on for, anyway, so he could very well leave after this. Marvel reportedly wants the Russo brothers, the directors of Captain America: The Winter Soldier and the upcoming Captain America: Civil War. They definitely have the chops to take up Whedon’s flag, and their involvement in multi-hero films will be a big aid. We probably won’t know for sure until Avengers 2 comes out and Whedon confirms! Marvel Phase Three

If you’re a Marvel fan, you have good reason to be very, very excited. Marvel Studios has announced all nine — yes, nine — films that will make up “Phase Three” of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, lasting from 2016 to 2019. (Phase Two will end not with Avengers: Age of Ultron, but instead end on July 17, 2015 with Ant-Man.) Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige made a ton of announcements which apparently weren’t fully worked out until recently, or else they’d likely have announced them at Comic-Con. Some of these may have been rumored in the past, but there’s still a lot of new information, including three films in both 2017 and 2018, so let’s jump in! Read more…
