Tarantino Co-Writing Django Unchained & Zorro Crossover Comic Book Series

It looks like Quentin Tarantino will be dabbling in the comic pages soon. Django, from Tarantino’s last film, Django Unchained, will leap into a comic book series in which he meets up with Zorro. Dynamite Entertainment will release the comic book series, which (along with Tarantino) will be written by Matt Wagner, and yes, Zorro and Django is the oddest crossover ever. I think it’s weird enough to work though, as they’re both very “pulpy” characters that could play well off of each other. Django previously was adapted as a 7-issue series by Dynamite, so it’s no surprise to see them bringing it back in a new way. I wonder how it’ll turn out! Read more…

New Clips from Django Unchained to Whet Your Appetite

Posted by Ben Huber on Dec 16, 2012 in Cinema

Django Unchained is almost here… along with Christmas Day. The hype train is in full gear, so what better way to get ready for the movie than by spoiling yourself watching 3 new clips from it? Maybe you’re like me and can’t help yourself, or maybe you just want to get a feel for the tone of the film. Either way, you can catch Leonardo DiCaprio chewing the scenery and Christoph Waltz trying his best to keep Jamie Foxx in line. If you’re looking for a little bit of Samuel L. Jackson, he shows up in the final clip, intimidating Kerry Washington. Watch them after the break! Read more…

New Django Unchained Trailer to Get You Excited for Christmas

Posted by Ben Huber on Dec 1, 2012 in Cinema

Perhaps I’m a terrible person, but I may just be excited for Django Unchained a teensy bit more than actual Christmas. Quentin Tarantino’s latest film opens Christmas Day, and to me that might just be the best gift a film fan could ask for. Recently I’ve been wondering who many more films we’ll be getting out of him, given that he’s been talking about retirement. He says he wants to quit while his filmography is still good and never produce a stinker like many other directors who continue past their prime. That’s such a Tarantino thing to say (and by extension, a film fan thing to say), so I’m really not surprised by his remarks like so many other people. Till then, his work still looks solid! Watch the trailer below. Read more…

Django Unchained Trailer Features Guns, Jokes, and DiCaprio Laughing It Up

Posted by Ben Huber on Jun 8, 2012 in Cinema

Have I told you I’m really excited for Quentin Tarantino’s latest, Django Unchained? Because I am. And this trailer just shot up and cemented its position as one of my most anticipated films this year. Jamie Foxx plays Django, a slave in the south who partners up with a German bounty hunter (the always enjoyable Christoph Waltz) to track down the man who took his wife. Leonardo DiCaprio plays an insane plantation owner and honestly, it just looks like he’s having the time of his life hamming it up. It’ll be worth it just to see DiCaprio play a villain for once! Django Unchained arrives Christmas Day – so it looks like I’ll be up late Christmas Eve checking this out.

New Teaser Poster for Django Unchained Channels Saul Bass

Posted by Ben Huber on Apr 13, 2012 in Cinema

We’ve received very few looks at Quentin Tarantino’s new film, Django Unchained, so far. It’s coming out this Christmas but all we had to show for it were a few leaked set images, one featuring Christoph Waltz in costume. Well, we’ve finally got a little taste, in the form of a teaser poster. Now I’m going to state the obvious here and say that this poster looks very Saul Bass-esque – and given Tarantino’s love of film, this should be no surprise. Check it out below. Read more…
