Umezu is best known for such works as <em>The Drifting Classroom</em>, <em>Makoto-chan</em> and <em>Reptilia</em>. <em><a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Drifting_Classroom">The Drifting Classroom</a></em> was turned into a live action film in 1987.
