<p>These have to be the most confusing Japanese ads I&#8217;ve ever seen. In fact, had I not researched it further, I doubt I would have realized they&#8217;re for a pachinko machine &#8212; Sanyo&#8217;s <em>Star Wars Fever.</em> The machine hit the market a few years back and while I&#8217;m not sure you&#8217;d still find them littered through out Japanese pachinko parlors, you&#8217;ll probably find one if you look hard enough. I&#8217;d rather just sit back and enjoy these terrifying, yet hilarious commercials. I just love the Empire&#8217;s fleet of Darth Vader themed 747s  &#8211; or are those suppose to be B-52s. It&#8217;s hard to tell.<span id="more-20582"></span></p>

<p>I just came across this amazing commercial for an <em>Enter the Matrix</em> Pachinko game which is from Daiichi (although I couldn&#8217;t find any info anywhere else on the web and the original version of the game came out in 2003). I love the Japanese twist of setting the commercial in a noodle shop — and the fact that the &#8220;special effect&#8221; is so low budget makes it all the better!</p>

<p>When I first came across this commercial my first thoughts were <em>&#8220;this has got to be an upcoming CGI Star Blazers movie that I&#8217;ve been waiting for my entire life!&#8221;</em> But then I noticed at the end of the advert that there seemed to be some sort of box — I figured then that it had to be some sort of amazing videogame:</p>
<p><img src="http://www.fanboy.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/02/yamato-pachinko-01.jpg" alt="Space Battleship Yamato Pachinko" title="Space Battleship Yamato Pachinko" width="400" height="300" class="size-full wp-image-6562" /></p>
<p>Well after a minuter or two of googling the subject it turns out that this amazing animation is for a new <a href="http://www.cryamato2.com/">Space Battleship Yamato Pachinko machine!</a> By you&#8217;ve got to check out the website — it&#8217;s all in Japanese but the interface with make any old school Star Blazers fan weep with joy:<span id="more-6561"></span></p>
<p><a href="http://www.fanboy.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/02/yamato-pachinko-02.jpg"><img src="http://www.fanboy.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/02/yamato-pachinko-02-400x269.jpg" alt="Space Battleship Yamato Pachinko website" title="Space Battleship Yamato Pachinko website" width="400" height="269" class="size-thumbnail wp-image-6563" /></a></p>
<p>The Pachinko is being released by <a href="http://www.fujimarukun.co.jp">a company called Fuji</a> who also has games based on <em>Mighty Mouse</em> and <em>Jurassic Park</em>:</p>
<p><img src="http://www.fanboy.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/02/jurassicpark-pachinko.jpg" alt="Jurassic Park Pachinko" title="Jurassic Park Pachinko" width="400" height="132" class="size-full wp-image-6564" /></p>
<p><img src="http://www.fanboy.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/02/mighty-mouse-pachinko.jpg" alt="Might Mouse Pachinko" title="Might Mouse Pachinko" width="400" height="132" class="size-full wp-image-6565" /></p>
<p>By the way it should be noted that after doing a bit of research I found out that this is the second pachinko game based on Yamato — here&#8217;s footage of the first game which looks pretty amazing even if it lacks the cool 3D animation:</p>
<p><object width="400" height="323"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/dZdodPzkJyA&#038;hl=en&#038;fs=1&#038;rel=0"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/dZdodPzkJyA&#038;hl=en&#038;fs=1&#038;rel=0" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="400" height="323"></embed></object></p>
<p>In fact here&#8217;s a commercial for the first game, what&#8217;s interesting in this avert is the use of the cosplay actress:</p>
<p><object width="400" height="323"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/3dH6RDanY7k&#038;hl=en&#038;fs=1&#038;rel=0"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/3dH6RDanY7k&#038;hl=en&#038;fs=1&#038;rel=0" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="400" height="323"></embed></object></p>
