Out of Print Clothing Puts Books on Your Shirts

There are a lot of classic books covers I love. Some of them are really iconic, stuff you’ll always remember. Out of Print has a unique idea that I love: take book covers and put them on t-shirts. Maybe it’s really obvious, but I haven’t seen anything exactly like this before. So you can get your favorite book cover design on t-shirts, sweaters, and more – and they also donate to Books for Africa in the process for each item sold. Pretty neat! Spiffy Doctor Who Tees for the Ladies

Posted by Tim Sheehy on Jun 27, 2012 in Dr. Who

Her Universe Doctor Who Tees

There’s an unfortunate lack of decent Doctor Who t-shirts on the market, or at least, ones properly licensed from the BBC, but that’s been changing as of late. Starting July 11th, Her Universe will launch three new officially-licensed Doctor Who tees! As the name of the store implies, these shirts were designed exclusively for the ladies, so unless you’re looking to pick up a gift for that special someone, or happen to be fortunate (or, unfortunate) enough to fit the sizes, you guys may be out of luck. Threadless Tees on the Cheap

Threadless T-shirts

I have more t-shirts than any other type of clothing, and though I ultimately blame myself for being terrible with money, the internet isn’t helping matters. Sites like Threadless, TeeFury, Red Bubble, and so many more keep letting artists design these amazing graphic tees, and my bank account takes hit after hit. To make matters worse, Threadless is currently in the midst of a 48-hour sale, with almost every shirt marked down to $9.99 — they usually retail for twice that. Read more…

The Sonic Screwdriver Mark VI

Posted by Tim Sheehy on Jan 10, 2012 in Dr. Who, Fandom

Sonic Screwdriver Mark VI t-shirt

Every once in awhile, I come across a TeeFury design that I just can’t pass up. More often than not, they relate to Doctor Who, due to the lack of awesome Doctor Who merchandise we get here in the States. For example, today’s design features an beautiful ad for the Sonic Screwdriver Mark VI, which you might recognize as the model used by Tennant and Eccleston throughout the 2005-2009 seasons. While I love how classy it looks, especially against that background, I’m not so sure I’d look good in it — cream really isn’t my color. Girls, on the other hand, will luck out with a white alternative. Why only two colors? Great question. All I know is that the shirt will only be on sale for the next 24 hours, so if you really want one, don’t wait.

Looking for another quirky t-shirt for your already large collection? 6amCrisis brings us an excellent Star Wars shirt with a great coat of arms design featuring the most important members of the Skywalker family. Some might ask where Padme is – to them I respond: who? Ok, joking aside, this is a pretty great shirt, and a nice plus is you can choose which color you prefer. You can also get it as an iPhone case or baby’s clothing (huh?). Check his redbubble profile for more awesome work! Read more…

King of Games’ 25th Anniversary Zelda Shirt is King

Posted by Ben Huber on Dec 31, 2011 in Videogames

zelda25_1

King of Games has made some pretty amazing shirts over the years, but this is one of my favorites. Up for pre-order from now until February 20th, King of Games will be releasing a special 25th Anniversary Zelda t-shirt featuring the iconic Hyrule family crest, Triforce, and all of Link’s weapons and items. It’s a really great design, up to KoG’s usual standards. If you want one, be sure to put your order in soon, as only one printing run will be done, ever, according to their site. Sounds pretty rare to me! Read more…

A Long Time Ago in an 8-Bit Galaxy Far Far Away

Star Wars: A New Pixel

It’s funny I always remember my sense of disappointment as a kid when looking at the amazing realistic cover art on videogames of that era and seeing what I perceived as the terrible lack of quality as to the 8-bit images that I’d see on the screen: So it’s a bit of a joy to reverse that in my later years and embrace the ugly pixels of days past. This 8-bit t-shirt collection does a nice job of taking Star Wars characters and converting them down from 70mm to good old fashioned 8-bit: Read more…

Daleks Don’t Care if You’re Naughty or Nice

Tee Fury Dalek Snowman t-shirt

Seeing as the next Doctor Who Christmas special is just a month away, now’s a great time to get into the spirit of things with this ridiculously cool Snow-lek shirt. I never really thought of building a Dalek snowman, but after seeing this, I kind of want to try. Of course, I’m sure nobody else will get the reference unless they’re fans, but I guess that’d be the point of doing it in the first place. The shirt, designed by artist Malcassairo, is currently being sold at TeeFury, and like every other design they print, will only be available for the next 24 hours. Their shirts are usually decent quality, and should only cost you $10 + shipping, but if you’d rather pass, there’s always a chance the shirt could pop up on a site like RedBubble, though it would be significantly more expensive to order it from there.  If you’d rather just see more of Malcassairo’s work, a larger portfolio is available at their Deviant Art page.

Even Starfighters Have Rear Windows

Posted by Tim Sheehy on Mar 3, 2011 in Design, Star Wars

Star Wars Family

I’m not sure why it bothers me so much to see those vans with those family decals stuck on their rear-view windows. Something about having to advertise the fact that your family shares a mini-van just seems a little much. If, on the other hand, your family owns the Millennium Falcon, I think I’d be okay with it. That’s why I love this design by artist Steve Thomas. I don’t think you’ll be able to find the sticker, but you can head over to TeeFury and pick up this nifty design on a custom tee of your own. Like every other design that gets featured on the site, it’ll only be available for 24 hours, or until it sells out — whichever comes first.   Read more…

If the King of All Cosmos Owned a T-Shirt, This Would Be It

Posted by Tim Sheehy on Dec 1, 2010 in Videogames

Katamari Evolution t-shirt

I love Katamari Damacy, so I couldn’t resist sharing this t-shirt with you guys. While I’m sure the designer didn’t intend to make a statement with his doodle — he admitted to doing it in class shortly after one of the games had been released — it’s actually quite profound. I can’t imagine the King of All Cosmos putting his prince at the short end of the evolutionary chain, I can see the young prince representing the concept of natural selection. Of course, I could be way off base, but who cares. It’s a neat design and it’s only available for the next 24 hours, so if you want one of these sweet t-shirts, head over to TeeFury and order yours while supplies last.
