“Released in 1982, Dünyayı Kurtaran Adam was created in Turkey caught in the midst of massive political upheaval. As a result, American-made films were not easily acquired and were often remade with a Turkish cast and setting. The musical soundtrack is entirely lifted from Western film hits of the time, primarily using Raiders of the Lost Ark. There are also scenes incorporating the music of Moonraker, Flash Gordon, Battlestar Galactica, Planet of the Apes and Disney’s The Black Hole.”
“Fanboys is a comedy about friends, fans and delusions of grandeur. Fanboys takes place in the fall of 1998, a time when everything was pure and Star Wars ruled the world once again. We follow four life-long best friends who travel cross-country in an attempt to break into George Lucas’ Skywalker Ranch. Their mission is to see Star Wars Episode I early when they discover one of the young men in their group is diagnosed with terminal cancer and will not live long enough to see the film in theaters the following May. This film expresses what it means to care about something so truly that you would do anything for it… what it means to be a fan. This is a film for the fans, made by the fans. ”

It’s the famous lost scene with Biggs from the original Star Wars! But now that I’ve seen it I think it’s a good Lucas cut it from the film – it’s pretty lame stuff:

There’s a move to celebrate May 25th next year as “The Universal Day of the Jedi” to celebrate the 30th birthday of Star Wars. What’s even cooler yet is there is a big Star Wars convention being planned to mark the day:
“To celebrate the 30th Anniversary of Star Wars, Lucasfilm Ltd. and Gen Con LLC will throw the largest party ever for fans of the saga, taking over the entire Los Angeles Convention Center in May 2007 for five days filled with live entertainment, celebrities from all six movies, special film and video presentations, an exhibit of movie props and costumes, exclusive merchandise sold at a 24-hour-a-day store, pop culture tributes, immersive events, costume contests, and scores of additional activities.
Star Wars Celebration IV will fill the L.A. Convention Center from Thursday, May 24 to Monday, May 28, 2007. Admission to the first day of the event will be for worldwide members of the Official Star Wars Fan Club, many of whom will help plan and run special programming themselves. The convention will be open to the general public from Friday through Monday, Memorial Day.”
“In 2007, Lucas will begin work on a live-action “Star Wars” show set during the 18-year gap between Episodes III and IV. “We haven’t started yet; I start that next year,” the filmmaker said, adding that he’s determined to write an entire first season before shooting begins on the show that will star “background” characters from that time period.
None of the Skywalker story, none of that stuff is in there,” he explained, shooting down any depiction of a young Han Solo acquiring the Millennium Falcon or running with Lando Calrissian. “It’s completely different. The animated series has got all the characters in it. The one that comes after, the live-action one, is with people who were in ‘Star Wars,’ but they’re not the main characters.” Lucas said the plot will be steered by characters such as Tie-Fighter or Rebel pilots, most only briefly glimpsed in the six “Star Wars” films.”
Below: “The Wookiees, although primitive compared to us, are surprisingly capable editors. They’re pretty strong, and pick up wiki techniques pretty quickly.”
“The wars aren’t over for “Star Wars” creator George Lucas. Lucas said Wednesday he’s making an animated TV series of “Clone Wars” that could air next year, although he hasn’t sold the show to a network yet. The series is set during the time when the Republic is fighting a civil war against separatists led by Count Dooku.
The mythic period hasn’t been dealt with too much in the popular “Star Wars” movies, so “it’s a fun place to go,” Lucas said. “It basically has all the main characters” such as Anakin Skywalker and Obi-Wan Kenobi, Lucas said, but the stars who played them in the movies won’t voice them for the TV show.”
“In mid-1998 Steve moved into what would become known as Rancho Obi-Wan. The previous occupier, a furniture equipment manufacturer had vacated and had left a large industrial warehouse and good-sized storeroom on the premises. The property itself totaled up two and a quarter acres, giving Steve the space he needed to house his collection, and additional space for storage.”

“George Lucas has given the Reduced Shakespeare Company the green light to condense the Star Wars saga into a 20-minute show. The films total more than 13 hours but this should not pose a problem for the company that did the Complete Works of Shakespeare in 97 minutes. “In the space of 20 minutes I’m going to be Jabba the Hutt, Jar Jar Binks, Darth Vader and Anakin Skywalker,” said Adam Long, who will write, direct and star in Star Wars – Shortened with two other actors.”
