Back to the Future II DeLorean Vehicle

“The way I see it, if you’re gonna build a time machine into a car, why not do it with some style?” It’s funny at the time I didn’t realize just how well Back to the Future captured the spirit of the 80s — a good example of this was the DeLorean featured in the trio of films. In a bit of irony you can keep in touch with your Back to the Future nostalgia with this cute Back to the Future II DeLorean Vehicle model which features actual working gull-wing doors:

“Based on the 1989 Back to the Future II, this is the best toy DeLorean money can buy. Not only does it feature classic DMC engineering (like the gull-wing doors and Doc Brown’s own special modifications), but our version of the DeLorean automobile also has the 2015 hover conversion kit. That’s right, our exclusive vehicle has wheels that pop out for “flight mode”! The wheels spin, the doors open, and its plastic construction feels just like the toy you always wished you had. Don’t miss your chance at owning one of America’s finest motorcars… with a special, futuristic, time-traveling twist! Limited edition. 1:18 scale, 14-inches long. Compatible with 3 3/4-inch scale action figures, not included.”

Sadly the selfish folks at Entertainment Earth decided to cheap out and not only doesn’t the time travel functionality work but you don’t even get action figures of figures for Doc or Marty to go with car, although given that the price of this goodie is only $35 I can live with that for now…
