Comic Book Literacy: Help Spread the Word About This Film

Posted by Michael Pinto on Nov 21, 2009 in Comic Books |

I think comics are a great way to reach an audience of kids who might not otherwise pick up a book — in fact a little know secret is that librarians across the nation are now putting graphic novels and manga on he book shelves to bring in young tweens and teens through the doors. The result? Not only do these kids read the comics, but they go on to read other books on related topics. That’s why this trailer for the film Comic Book Literacy got my attention — it’s drawing more attention to a powerful idea that works.

This film is still in postproduction, but I think the best time for fans to show their support is right now. Filmmaker Todd Kent has setup a Facebook group which sadly only has about 100 members and I’d like think we can do a little be better than that to help give a larger voice to project.
