Because Hoth is Never Hot: A Star Wars Weather Forecast

Star Wars: A Tauntaun on Hoth

Have you ever wondered what the weather outside would be like if you were in a galaxy far, far away? Well, now you can know, thanks in part to Tom Scott’s Star Wars Weather Forecast. The site uses Yahoo!’s weather service to determine the forecast for any city you choose and presents it to you in terms any true Star Wars fan could understand. If it’s muggy and humid, you’ll get Dagobah. Temperate but cloudy? Endor, maybe. Currently New York City is like Naboo:

Australia is like Yavin 4:

And for the record Iceland is like Hoth:

You’d think that if the Rebel Alliance had access to this weather service, they would have picked someplace a little nicer than Hoth for a hidden base. Sure, it was cold, and remote, but if they were able to hide their base on Yavin from the Empire for so long, maybe a nice villa on Naboo might have been a better choice. Then again, I’m sure anything beats Alderaan:
