Lose Weight Fast by Fleeing Zombies

No, I’m not talking about Left 4 Dead 4 Wii– I’m talking about ZombieFit, a new program at a gym in St. Charles, IL where you basically learn how to be a movie badass by assigning yourself an even harder target: be able to survive a zombie apocalypse.

What if you woke up tomorrow to find your city overridden with zombies, would you survive? This may seem childish, but by preparing for the impossible, you’ll be ready for the improbable.

The keys to surviving Z-day are simple: Be able to lift and throw heavy things, run fast and for long distances, and be able to navigate obstacles and urban environments in an efficient manner.

One of the biggest pieces of ZombieFit’s program is becoming proficient in parkour, which is basically freerunning but with the goal of speed, rather than expression– see the above parkour/Thriller mashup video, which manages to be almost as long as the original “Thriller” video. (Almost.)

Geek fitness is definitely an increasing market these days– wouldn’t it be crazy if in a decade or two geeks had a reputation for being IN shape instead of out of it?
