Jon Stewart: A Little Short for a Stormtrooper

Jon Stewart, the Stewtrooper

Now that Daily Show host (“anchor”?) Jon Stewart has removed his ungodly facial hair and is once again clean-shaven, he can now pass for a clone of Jango Fett (genetically modified to be older, sharper-featured, shorter, and Jewish). By sheer coincidence, Stewart also just interviewed George Lucas at a giant Star Wars event.

As such, it’s only natural that Hasbro would make him an officially-licensed custom Jon Stewart Stormtrooper action figure. Right? Surely there was no sucking-up involved in all of this, on either side. And there definitely was NOT a contract between Stewart and Lucas to lodge softball questions like “How do you get all the names” (actual question!) in exchange for the toy.

No sirree bob. Never in a million years! (Hey George, when do I get my Giatrooper figure?)
