InuYasha

Man, I remember loving InuYasha back in early high school. It was a great premise with colorful characters and lots of action (or at least that’s how I felt at the time). Then all the plot beats started looping, which made it feel like the characters and plot were going nowhere, and by the time it picked up again, my tastes had matured too much to stand the expository dialogue and mounds of wretched filler episodes. Maybe that’s why we have the movies!

The four InuYasha movies aren’t based on manga storylines and don’t really affect the anime, making them little more than big budget filler. But at least in the movies, a plot moves forward and gets resolved while you get to watch fancier animation! The four movies are getting a Blu-ray release on March 26, courtesy of Viz Media’s distributor Warner Home Media. The two-disc set will cost $29.99 and follow the February 12 release of InuYasha: The Final Act‘s second set.

“InuYasha!” “Kagome!” etc.
