Namco/Capcom/Sega Crossover Game Actually Getting English Release

Project X Zone

It was a long shot, but Namco Bandai is actually bringing Project X Zone to America. The 3DS game is a crossover between tons of game franchises from Namco Bandai, Capcom, and Sega. Tekken, Street Fighter, .hack, Valkyria Chronicles, Mega Man X, Tales, Resident Evil, and more are represented in the strategy RPG. With that many licenses, even from only three companies, it seemed unlikely that the game would reach our shores. But hey, it’s happening!

Unlike previous mega-crossover game Namco x Capcom, which had 100 characters, Project X Zone has only “over 50 characters from 29 historic game franchises.” Then again, this game is actually getting released in English, which gives it a leg up on its predecessor. There won’t be any English voiceover though, with the game retaining its Japanese voices, which some would consider a plus. It also likely lowers localization costs, which may be a reason this game is getting an English localization at all.
