With the runaway success of the Walking Dead, AMC has been struggling to find another show to pair with it. Typically, the show immediately following TWD is The Talking Dead, which is thoroughly uninteresting to me, but apparently loved by millions if the ratings are anything to go by. So: AMC has teamed up with Tron: Legacy and Oblivion director Joseph Kosinski and the Pacific Rim scribe (Travis Beachman) to create a new sci-fi show that they hope will reach the same heights. We don’t have many details on the moment, but AMC is pitching it as “Blade Runner meets Battlestar Galactica.”

Apparently it will focus on the criminal underworld of an enormous, jam-packed ship headed towards an unknown planet. All-in-all, the premise sounds solid and it has my interest, but execution is key here. And, a new procedural sci-fi show is always nice to see. Let’s hope it turns out well.
