Muppets Most Wanted Will Probably Be Fun Based On This Trailer
Even after Disney successfully made a good Muppets movie in 2011, it’s hard for me to not still be skeptical of a sequel in the same way that I was before the previous movie. Hollywood is drowning in sequels, remakes, and reboots, and it’s rare that any are anything more than merely competent. It doesn’t help that Jason Segel was a major creative force behind The Muppets, but is not involved with the sequel at all. But you know what? Let’s think positively, because based on this trailer, Muppets Most Wanted is probably going to be allllllright.
Ricky Gervais is always a treat, the celebrity cameos look fun, and most importantly the Muppets themselves are in fine form. The only thing that detracts from this trailer is Walter, the new Muppet introduced in the last film, and even he’s not bad, just unmemorable if not for his previous starring role. I still miss Jim Henson as the voice of Kermit, though…
