THX Has Remade The “Deep Note” Intro
By now almost everyone who has seen a movie has heard the iconic THX “Deep Note” noise, even if they don’t know its name. The sound’s been parodied and imitated in pop culture many times, so changing it seems tantamount to heresy. But here we are! Dr. James “Andy” Moorer, who created the original sound (it first premiered with Return of the Jedi in 1983!), is back to update it for 7.1 surround sound and Dolby Atmos presentations.
