The Legend of Korra

The Legend of Korra is often compared to its anime influences, so it makes sense that Japanese developer Platinum Games has announced a game based on the popular cartoon. Platinum is known for its action games, and that’s what they’re delivering with this downloadable game published by Activision. The game is set between the second and third seasons, so Korra has access to all four elements in combat. The game is releasing this fall for PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, and Xbox One. (A turn-based strategy game made by Webfoot Technologies will release on 3DS.) The teaser shows that the graphics maintain the colorful look the show, so it looks great.

The Wonderful 101 Trailer, Now in 60 Frames Per Second

Interested in checking out a new trailer for the upcoming Wii U game from Hideki Kamiya, The Wonderful 101? It’s one of the best-looking games coming out for the system, in my view. It features a bunch of colorful superhero characters (who might remind you a bit of Viewtiful Joe) that team up to fight an alien menace. And we do mean ‘team up.’ The collective combines into a giant sword, a fist, or other objects to tackle your enemies – all you need to do is gather citizens and recruit them to your cause. Check out the trailer here, in 60 frames per second, so you can get a full feel for the fluidity of the game! Read more…

The Wonderful 101 Shows Off in a New Trailer

Remember Project P-100 from E3? Platinum Game’s upcoming Wii U game directed by Hideki Kamiya features super heroes that recruit ordinary citizens into their growing posse of super-individuals, and use them to create larger-than-life guns, hang gliders, or swords. It’s a little bit of Pikmin mixed with the aesthetics of Viewtiful Joe, which in my book is a big win. The name of the game is now The Wonderful 101, and Nintendo is showing off a new trailer – and it still looks great. The Wonderful 101 is coming out sometime after the Wii U’s launch, but before March 2013, so it won’t be too long of a wait! Read more…
