Toy Story 4 Announced and Dated

Posted by Ben Huber on Nov 8, 2014 in Animation, Cinema

Yes, even Pixar can’t stay away from the lure of sequels. Disney announced in their most recent investors call that a new Toy Story film would be coming on June 16th, 2017. Toy Story 4, it’s official title so far, will be written by Rashida Jones and Will McCormack. In a surprise to many, John Lasseter himself will be directing the picture, making this his first time directing since Cars 2 in 2011. There had been plenty of rumors floating around about a fourth film, so it’s really not that surprising, but I still can’t help but wonder how this’ll turn out. Toy Story 3 ended on a perfect note — I’m not sure what else you can add to the story! Read more…

Toy Story of TERROR! Sneak Peek Video Creeps In

Posted by Ben Huber on Oct 7, 2013 in Animation

A new Toy Story short is premiering soon, and it’s Halloween-themed, too! Toy Story of TERROR! (yes, all caps) will be showing on ABC on October 16th, 8pm EST, 7 central. If you’re a Toy Story fan this definitely looks to be a fun little diversion, bringing along several characters from the third film and apparently a new toy. I know some fans would rather just have another Toy Story film, but I actually prefer this. The trilogy is over, let it be. If you really want to continue things, these shorts are an easy and enjoyable way of seeing the toys again. Check out the clip below. Read more…

Andy’s room from Toy Story made out of Legos by Matt De Lanoy

I just love the level of detail on this recreation of Andy’s room from Toy Story which was made using lego bricks! The talented artist behind this effort is Matt De Lanoy who will be showing it off at the 9th Annual Lego Train Show at Cantigny Park, Wheaton, Illinois. Read more…

Toy Story 3: The Toys are Back in Town.

I haven’t watched Toy Story 3 yet, so I don’t know what all of the little cameo toy appearances are– but here are some of my favorite childhood toys (which may date me as a child born in the mid-’80s) that definitely deserve some Toy Story screen time. Read more…

Star Wars lunch boxes by Tin Box Company

The Tin Box Company may claim that these lunch boxes are just for kids, but I know better! As any art student can tell you a lunch box makes a fashionable accessory that can be used as a mini-briefcase. Shown here are lunchboxes from Star Wars, Hello Kitty and Toy Story — however Tin Box’s full line up also includes Bakugan, Strawberry Shortcake, Disney characters, Sesame Street and Spider-man. Pixar Taking 3D to Another Dimension

Posted by Michael Pinto on Jul 29, 2009 in Animation

Only Pixar could get away with making fun of their own medium — I love how in this promo they’ve literally broken the third wall! It’s this sense of humor (i.e. understanding of storytelling) that makes their animation so brilliant in my book. Toy Story 3-D (which is Toy Story 1 & 2) will hit theaters on October 2nd, 2009.

I hate to say it but as much as I’m against sequels, I must just trust Pixar to get Toy Story 3 right.

I Was Framed by Disney!

Disney Character Digital Photo Frame (Alien)

With the Toy Story 3 grabbing all of the headlines this Disney themed digital frame caught my eye. With a 3.5″ inch display (320 by 240 pixels) these frames are more novelty items than serious display things at this point in time, however I can see a day in the not to far future when that changes. Above is the alien from Toy Story and below is Stitch and a Pooh bear: Read more…
