Arrested Development Star Wars

Okay, this is a bit of exciting news and I really could help but write about it, but it looks as though — wait for it Arrested Development will be returning for a fourth season! Okay, well, maybe not a entire season, but at least nine or ten new episodes that will serve as a lead-in for the upcoming feature film. The announcement came from series creator Mitch Hurwitz during a recent cast reunion. No word on when the episodes will start full production, or where they’ll end up, but there’s some reports that both Netflix and Showtime have shown interest.

A lot has happened in the five years since the series went off the air, so in order to play catch up with the Bluths, each new episode will focus on an individual character.  The writing for the new season is about half-way done and they’re hoping to have it ready for air by next fall. I imagine the feature film would follow shortly thereafter. Of course, the fact that they’re writing it doesn’t mean it’ll all go according to plan. It’s nice that they’re finally looking to move forward with the project, and it seems that the actors will all make the time for it, but just like this latest announcement, anything can happen between now and when the cameras start rolling. Let’s keep our fingers crossed
