Since Telltale Games is making both The Walking Dead: Season Two and The Wolf Among Us at the same time (with even more episodic adventure games in the works), it’s understandable that both releases are a bit slower than fans would like. So when I see a “launch trailer” for the third episode of The Wolf Among Us, I understand that the game probably isn’t releasing this week, much less has a release date. Still, it looks like things are heating up in the story, with this episode landing right in the middle. I’m dying to see where this mystery goes, but for now, I’ll have to settle for this trailer. I’m glad that I’m waiting to play the latest Telltale Games adventure game series The Wolf Among Us. The spin-off of the comic series Fables released the first of five episodes, “Faith,” a few months ago, but the second episode, “Smoke and Mirrors,” has taken longer than expected to come out. The latest trailer promises that it’s “coming soon,” so it should be out shortly. Those who are playing each episode as it comes out will probably be ecstatic, as this new episode’s trailer looks pretty awesome. Telltale Games knocked it out of the park with The Walking Dead: Season One. It garnered tons of “Game of the Year” awards, which is incredible for a modestly-budgeted game with no bleeding-edge graphics from a smaller developer. Season Two is coming in Q4 2013, but before those episodes start releasing, Telltale has another comic book collaboration to start: The Wolf Among Us, a prequel to Bill Willingham’s Fables series. The episodic game will release its first episode in Q3 2013, with the overall series centering on Bigby Wolf, the reformed Big Bad Wolf who can take human form. Bigby works to keep other fairy tale creatures in line in a part of NYC known as Fabletown. Read more…
