Here’s Some New Screenshots Of Telltale’s Game of Thrones Episode 3

I’ve been surprised by Telltale’s Game of Thrones episodic video game series. The first episode was a little rough in spots and felt too similar to the Stark’s story in the series proper, but in episode 2 suddenly things became much more fleshed out and a few interesting wrinkles were thrown into the plot. I can only hope that the series to continues this upward trend! Telltale has released a few new screenshots from the upcoming episode 3, which is presumably coming soon. They also said that a new trailer for the episode will arrive on Monday, March 23rd. Perhaps we’ll get a release date then! Check out the screenshots below. Read more…

Telltale, the folks behind The Walking Dead and The Wolf Among Us series, have a new Game of Thrones game coming out “soon.” They won’t say what date yet, but before the end of the year. So, December sometime. This game will follow House Forrester, a family of loyal bannermen to House Stark, from five different perspectives. It’ll feature characters from the show, too, and Telltale has announced that they’ve gotten several of the actors to reprise their roles as well. Peter Dinklage (Tyrion), Lena Heady (Cersei), Natalie Dormer (Margaery), and Iwan Rheon (Ramsay). Not too shabby! It’ll be out on basically all platforms soon. Steam pre-order page here. Check out the very short teaser below! Read more…

The Wolf Among Us Episode 4 Is Coming May 27th

Posted by Ben Huber on May 26, 2014 in Videogames

wolf

Bigby is back, he’s brooding, and he’s angry about… stuff! I don’t want to spoil anything. Things are going poorly Fabletown, and given that this is the penultimate episode, a lot of stuff is going to be happening. This new trailer has spoilers for the previous three episodes, so only watch if you’ve played the game thus far. If you haven’t, The Wolf Among Us is a great take on the Fables comic book series that features reimaginings of your favorite fairy tale characters in a darker, grittier setting. And yes, for the uninitiated, Bigby is the big bad wolf. Check out the trailer below, but again — spoilers! Read more…

Bad Things Are Happening In The Walking Dead Game S2 Episode 3

Posted by Ben Huber on May 12, 2014 in Videogames

walkingdead

Telltale can’t stop having bad things happen to good people! The sad adventures of Clementine continue in The Walking Dead Game season 2 — we’re now up to episode 3. While I feel season 2 hasn’t quite matched up to the quality of the first, they’ve still done a solid job of continue the story and finding new ways to make you depressed about the zombie apocalypse and the people dying in it. This trailer does features spoilers for everything leading up to it, so if you haven’t touched season 2 yet I’d advise you steer clear. I’ll tell you all about it though: it looks like people will die, and there are zombies in it too. Check out the trailer below! Read more…

The Wolf Among Us Episode 3 Gets Launch Trailer For Eventual Launch

Posted by Bob Muir on Apr 2, 2014 in Videogames

The Wolf Among Us Episode 3

Since Telltale Games is making both The Walking Dead: Season Two and The Wolf Among Us at the same time (with even more episodic adventure games in the works), it’s understandable that both releases are a bit slower than fans would like. So when I see a “launch trailer” for the third episode of The Wolf Among Us, I understand that the game probably isn’t releasing this week, much less has a release date. Still, it looks like things are heating up in the story, with this episode landing right in the middle. I’m dying to see where this mystery goes, but for now, I’ll have to settle for this trailer. Second Episode Of ‘The Wolf Among Us’ Out Soon

Posted by Bob Muir on Jan 30, 2014 in Videogames

The Wolf Among Us

I’m glad that I’m waiting to play the latest Telltale Games adventure game series The Wolf Among Us. The spin-off of the comic series Fables released the first of five episodes, “Faith,” a few months ago, but the second episode, “Smoke and Mirrors,” has taken longer than expected to come out. The latest trailer promises that it’s “coming soon,” so it should be out shortly. Those who are playing each episode as it comes out will probably be ecstatic, as this new episode’s trailer looks pretty awesome. I figure I’ll pick up the whole series at once when it’s finally finished. Read more…

Rumor: Telltale Developing Game of Thrones Video Game

Posted by Ben Huber on Nov 23, 2013 in Videogames

We haven’t had too much luck with video games based off of the Game of Thrones series. The last one was pretty lackluster and didn’t really do anything interesting. However, our luck might be about to change: IGN is running that they’ve heard from multiple sources that Telltale Games (the makers of the famed Walking Dead games) have gotten the license to Game of Thrones. IGN admits that they’re not sure whether the license is for the books or the TV show, though, and having the rights to the HBO version would allow them to use the likenesses of the characters, presumably. However, it could also tell a story that avoids any characters from the books, too. There’s a lot of possibilities here, so I hope we hear something soon. Read more…

First Teaser For Telltale Games’ The Walking Dead: Season 2

Posted by Bob Muir on Oct 30, 2013 in Videogames

The Walking Dead: Season 2

Have you heard of this “walking dead” thing? If you’ve been living under a rock, The Walking Dead is a critically acclaimed comic series by Robert Kirkman that has been adapted into a very successful TV series on AMC. Last year, Telltale Games released a episodic adventure game called The Walking Dead: Season 1 that went on to win untold Game of the Year awards based on its strong design, writing, storytelling, and characters, despite competing with games with far bigger budgets. If you haven’t played it yet (or its short expansion 400 Days), go do that now before even thinking about watching what many fans have been waiting for: the reveal trailer for Season 2. Read more…

Telltale Announces Poker Night 2, Featuring Awesome Cast

Posted by Bob Muir on Apr 2, 2013 in Videogames

Poker Night 2

It’s fairly hard to sort out the real news from the fake news on April Fool’s Day, but here’s something from yesterday that we’re pretty sure is true, since there were rumors about it prior to April 1. Telltale Games, known for their adventure games and most recently the critically acclaimed game version of The Walking Dead, has announced Poker Night 2. It’s a sequel to 2010’s Poker Night at the Inventory, which featured Team Fortress 2‘s Heavy Weapons Guy, Homestar Runner‘s Strong Bad, Sam & Max‘s Max, and Penny Arcade‘s Tycho. Read more…

First Preview of The Walking Dead Game from Telltale Games

Posted by Ben Huber on Mar 18, 2012 in Comic Books, Videogames

Here’s a short and sweet teaser trailer to promote the upcoming Walking Dead video game from Telltale Games. Not much happens in it, but it seems to be a pretty good indicator of the tone for the game – heavy and depressing. Which is fine by me, considering most recent adventure games deign towards the humorous end of things. A full trailer is supposed to come out Monday, so if you like what you see, watch Telltale’s site for all the details!

Gotta Get Back in Time

Posted by Tim Sheehy on Mar 30, 2011 in Cinema, Videogames

Back to the Future: The Game -- Citizen Brown

In case you’ve been waiting, Telltale Games has finally released the third installment of Back to the Future: The Game for PC & Mac.  For those of you with consoles, the PS3 release of chapter two should be available tomorrow as well, via Playstation Network. The iPad & European releases should follow in coming weeks, but so far there’s no official date. In other news, the first episode of their Jurrasic Park adventure series should be out sometime next month. Unfortunately, if you’d rather own a console version you’ll be stuck waiting until Fall. I can’t imagine why they’d wait so long to port it, but I’m sure they have a good reason. Besides, there’s really nothing like playing a point-and-click adventure with a mouse. Read more…

Get Your First Episode of Back to the Future The Game For Free

Posted by Tim Sheehy on Dec 30, 2010 in Videogames

Back to the Future: The Game

You can snag yourself a free episode of Telltale’s Back to the Future: The Game, that is, if you want to wait until February to play it. The deal has been going on for awhile now, but Telltale Games — the guys behind the recent Sam & Max, and Monkey Island titles — are giving away that first episode to anyone who registers via this site. Of course, if you’d rather just buy the game outright, you can download it right away and start playing. So far, it’s recieved mostly rave reviews, so I wouldn’t blame anyone for not wanting to wait. Still, pretty awesome of Telltale to just hand out the first episode for free. Read more…
