Darth Vader’s Pachinko Ads Are Scary

These have to be the most confusing Japanese ads I’ve ever seen. In fact, had I not researched it further, I doubt I would have realized they’re for a pachinko machine — Sanyo’s Star Wars Fever. The machine hit the market a few years back and while I’m not sure you’d still find them littered through out Japanese pachinko parlors, you’ll probably find one if you look hard enough. I’d rather just sit back and enjoy these terrifying, yet hilarious commercials. I just love the Empire’s fleet of Darth Vader themed 747s  — or are those suppose to be B-52s. It’s hard to tell. Enter the Pachinko Matrix!

I just came across this amazing commercial for an Enter the Matrix Pachinko game which is from Daiichi (although I couldn’t find any info anywhere else on the web and the original version of the game came out in 2003). I love the Japanese twist of setting the commercial in a noodle shop — and the fact that the “special effect” is so low budget makes it all the better!

Yamato Pachinko Machine Features First-Rate CGI Animation

When I first came across this commercial my first thoughts were “this has got to be an upcoming CGI Star Blazers movie that I’ve been waiting for my entire life!” But then I noticed at the end of the advert that there seemed to be some sort of box — I figured then that it had to be some sort of amazing videogame:
