Now this is an awesome LEGO MOC (My Own Creation). Julius von Brunk recently created this delightfully clever Game Boy Transformer – and wow is it detailed. First, it actually transforms. Second, the game cartridge transforms too. Third, he even made batteries for it that integrate into the “battle” mode! Now if only it could get submitted and approved on LEGO CUUSOO… Read more…
I gotta say, flash mobs are interesting to me. They sit in a unique place in my heart, nestled right between ‘awkward’ and ‘awesome.’ On one hand I love that a bunch of people can just go out and do something, purely for fun. On the other, sometimes the hassling of other people looks like it might be a bit much. Here, a bunch of cosplayers dressing up as Street Fight and Mortal Kombat characters dance it out in New York. This one seems to be just a bunch of silly fun, and it left a smile on my face. Fun stuff!
All tongue-in-cheek of course. College Humor joined together with a large list of TV celebs from your favorite shows like True Blood, Walking Dead, The Wire, and Dexter. Normally I’m not too big a fan of CH’s videos, but this one keeps it simple and delivers. The actual rules listed for spoilers actually aren’t too bad either, but let’s face it, we’re not going to get everyone to agree. Especially when someone so badly wants to tell you about whatever last episode they watched, but you’re not caught up yet. It’s just going to happen.
So how better to watch The Avengers this summer than in 3D? Depends on your preference I suppose. As a glasses-wearer myself, I find 3D glasses and 3D films as a whole very clumsy, but it’s hard to argue when people are swarming into 3D films. So it looks like the new promotional tie-in for 3D films will be custom 3D glasses, like these Avengers-themed glasses. It’s hilarious to see people mistake the Thor glasses as Spider-Man glasses on the Facebook page, though. Read more…
After much vagueness and waiting, the release date for The Legend of Korra (sequel to Avatar: The Last Airbender) has finally been announced: April 14th at 11am. Sooner than you thought, right? It could be even sooner as Nickelodeon is running a Facebook promo to unlock the premier episode early. If they garner 100,000 likes on their Facebook page, they’ll release the episode on March 24th, presumably on their website. They also released a new trailer to hype the announcement as well, so check it out after the jump! Read more…
I’ll be honest, I’m pretty burnt out on the Halo series. It’s not Call of Duty levels of commercial milking yet, but I think I’m good for my share of Spartan adventures. That said, it’s still a huge series and I bet a lot of you still want more, which is why we have a Halo 4 in the first place. This recently released video gives you a first look at Halo 4, as well as the developers in 343 Industries. Check out the full video after the break. Read more…

We’ve lost an incredible man. French artist and designer Jean Giraud passed away after a long battle with cancer. He was 74.
His influence on comics, movies, and more has been felt throughout the world. From Alien to Tron, from Blueberry to Arzach. His accomplishments are simply staggering. So much has been influenced by him, whether directly or indirectly – it’s impossible to list everything here. But for now I’d like to simply have a gallery of work from the man himself. Read more…

Olly Moss has been one of my most-watched artists recently. Very few people have the consistently excellent output he’s had. You’ve probably seen his work floating throughout the ‘net at some point, especially his popular posters he’s done with Mondo. Just recently, he released four prints at once, the three original starter Pokémon and Pikachu, which sold out almost instantly. So why not take a look at some of his other work? Read more…
Ever wanted to fight an evil, robotic version of George Washington with a gattling gun? No? Well, I have bad for you then about BioShock: Infinite. IGN recently released a short video featuring the “Big Daddies” of BioShock: Infinite, now called “Heavy Hitters.” Ken Levine tries to make them seem totally different in the interview, but come on guys, they’re this game’s version of Big Daddies. Not saying that the game doesn’t look amazing, though. Video after the jump! Read more…
Here’s a little fun for your day: an alternate Walking Dead intro created by tlunsford in the style of a 70s/80s TV intro. Trust me, it’s better than it sounds. Given that Walking Dead is more about the people than the zombies, something like this makes sense. Tlunsford jokes in the video description, “this new intro for season 2.5 seems to shine a light on the character dynamics of this ragtag group of zombie survivors and the impending daddy issues that Laurie’s pregnancy is sure to bring.” Oh, I’m willing to bet you’re closer to the truth than you think, buddy. Want to get excited for a new anime? How about a new Lupin III series? Starting April 4th in Japan, viewers will get to see Lupin III -The Woman Called Fujiko Mine- on the small screen. It’ll focus on Fujiko Mine in particular, and is said to want to recapture the “sensuality” of the series in a “daring interpretation” of the original series. Of particular interest? The staff! Sayo Yamamoto, director of the series Michiko to Hatchin (an excellent cult favorite), will be directing the series, and Takeshi Koike (director of the ridiculously awesome Redline – watch it) will be handling character design and animation direction. An excellent lineup! Read more…
Looking for bizarre promotional products for the upcoming Amazing Spider-Man film? Here’s one of the oddest: Spider-Man nail polish. Sure, given the market that the new movie is aimed at, this isn’t too surprising, but I can’t help but feel that fan girls won’t really flock to this. The most terrifying thing here is the names, though. “Just Spotted the Lizard??” Is that a euphemism or something? “Call Me Gwen-ever?” Really? Read more…
Here’s something neat coming up soon: the Smithsonian American Art Museum is featuring a new exhibition called The Art of Video Games, from March 16th to September 30th. It’ll feature art from a large array of games, from Pac-Man and Mario to Zelda and Metal Gear. To kick the whole thing off, the first three days will be Gamefest – at which you can experience panels, interviews, and musical performances. Check out the full listing of games here, and the events you can attend here!
What happens when two people get a little too into their table tennis? Maybe you throw the paddle down and walk away angry? Not these two, instead they get into a ridiculously over-the-top fight featuring slow-motion, explosions, and fire. Combine a little bit of the Street Fighter IV trailers with a dose of anime styling and you’re starting to get close to the kind of ping pong battle to expect. Start your Saturday right and check out the video after the break. Read more…
I love behind-the-scenes and production videos. It’s especially great when someone like Peter Jackson gives you details into the work behind the upcoming Hobbit film. It’s really impressive how nicely made these video blogs are, too. This is the sixth one so far, and it details Andy Serkis’ work as the second unit director, dwarves fooling around, almost getting swept away in a flash flood, beautiful New Zealand landscapes, and oranges. Lots and lots of oranges. Click through for the full 12-minute video. Read more…
Who doesn’t want some awesome hi-def Indiana Jones action? Finally, after much waiting, we’ve gotten an official announcement of Indiana Jones arriving on Blu-Ray this fall. Sadly, there aren’t really any other details aside from the announcement itself and an Amazon listing for the package that features the pricetag of $75. I’d pay more if Crystal Skull was left out. I kid, I kid. Check out the 720p trailer after the jump. Read more…
Ubisoft has officially revealed the first details for the next installment in the Assassin’s Creed series. While we had heard reliable rumors and rumblings of the setting being the American Revolution for while, this is the first time we’ve gotten hi-res official images. It’s part of the the promotion with Game Informer as their next cover story. Ubisoft has apparently been spending a good three years working on AC3, so it looks like they’re putting their best foot forward here. Read more…
I saw this video on Topless Robot earlier and simply had to share: one guy at Belated Media shares his way of fixing Star Wars: The Phantom Menace. He makes a fair amount of tweaks to the story – some minor and silly, others incredibly astute. But he shares the opinion of the Clone Wars creators that Darth Maul should’ve lived, something I strongly agree with. Check out the full video below the break! Read more…
ThreeA has put out some amazing stuff over the years, and their recent partnership with Konami to create a 1/48th scale Metal Gear Rex got a lot of people excited. We saw a few preview images a while back, but now we’ve got the full details and full-color photos: Metal Gear Rex will go on sale March 2nd at 9am Hong Kong time (8pm EST, March 1st) and it’ll be priced at $490. Pricey? Yes. But holy crap does it look fantastic. Read more…
Borderlands 2 looks like a pretty sweet game. In fact, this trailer did a good job of showing off the game – but there’s one little thing. I have no real problem with dubstep, but wow, is it just me or is it used in every game trailer these days? It’s getting really annoying, to be honest. There’s other music out there! At least they have a sense of humor about it, and have Claptrap dance awkwardly for your entertainment. Check out the trailer below for plenty of dubstep and extra guns. The game is out September 18th. Read more…
Remember how we heard a while back Darth Maul would be making a return to the Star Wars universe in the CGI animated Clone Wars series? Well it’s happening, and just in time to help promote Episode I in theaters. Oh, Lucasfilm, you clever bunch, you. Given that Darth Maul was pretty cleanly separated from the lower half of his body, one might wonder how exactly you obtain a fresh pair of mechanical legs while, you know, not dying. But those are not the questions you should be asking, yells the marketing director. “Look how cool he is!” Trailer after the break. Read more…
Brave is Pixar’s next big film and certainly one of my most anticipated films of the year. I’m sure many of you are excited as well, and luckily Disney and Pixar are here to supply you with your next look at the film. It’s a great little scene introducing the main character, Merida, and her skills at archery. The setting is great as well – my only gripe with this clip is the juvenile humor. Come on Pixar, you can do better than that and we both know it. Check the clip after the jump! Read more…
Oh Warner Brothers, what are we going to do with you? Not content with the start-and-stop production process of it’s other live-action anime adaptions (namely Akira), the fine folks over at Warner have picked up another property to slowly never make a movie out of: Bleach. The popular and long-running Shonen Jump manga series by Tite Kubo has spawned an equally long anime and many video games, but no live-action films yet. Looks like Warner wants to change that! A clever bunch of marketing folks in South Africa recently needed to promote the second season of Walking Dead. So how better to do that than unleash a zombie on the public? They gathered a group of unsuspecting people to watch a rom-com movie trailer (a very fake one) but then set their zombie loose in the theater. It sounds lame, but trust me, the ending is worth it. Click through for the full video. Read more…
