I’m a vegetarian, but this exclusive preview of the Star Trek XI toys make me want to visit Burger King to get my hands on these totally rad trinkets. In a sad way they sort of remind me of the Muppet Babies which was my first reaction to seeing trailers of the show — but with any luck there will be spaceships and enough things blowing up to make up for that… Skippy Explains Star Wars

These Star Wars Kokeshi dolls touched my heart as they perfectly combine the timelessness of Star Wars with the charm of Japanese craftsmanship. For those of you not in the know Kokeshi are traditional dolls from northern Japan — what makes them unique is that they’re made out of wood and always lack arms or legs, and they’re always hand painted. I wasn’t aware of this — but it seems that back 1989 at Tokyo Disneyland they had a Star Wars themed attraction called Mickey’s Space Fantasy. After some research I found out that the ride featured in this old advert is in fact Star Tours which was advertised as “The Ultimate Star Wars Adventure!” which was the direct result of Lucas working with Disney back in the 80s on several projects. A long time ago, in a galaxy far far away there were these cute little mice! I know this sounds like we’re kitbashing Star Wars with the Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy but these adorable sci fi rodents are the precious creations of the House of Mouse and can be found on Etsy on their very own page. There are 14 mice in the entire collection so far and they run between $35 and $40, but bet of all if your favorite character is missing they’re open to doing custom orders. At first I had my doubts — but the one thing that won me over to the up and coming Star Trek film is the trailer — to be blunt it kicks ass! So as a fanboy who’s been following the show forever when I read that there was a comic book attached to the film (Star Trek Countdown) I was psyched. But then I glanced at the cover and I was in shock: The illustration looks like a bad tracing from a photo featuring some of the worst Photoshop coloring work I’ve ever seen in my life. I realize the cover is trying to match the posters for the film, but couldn’t they have put more than just ten minutes worth of work into it? There’s this part of George Lucas that I love who does this great work, and then there is the dark side of the source: You know what I’m talking about — it’s that greedy guy who for the sake of a buck will let bad idea slip through like the Ewoks or Jar Jar just to rake in a few marketing bucks. Well George the greedy is back and Star Wars: A Musical Journey is set to hit the stage in London on April 10th, 2009. This is a cool looking documentary on the upcoming MMORPG game Star Wars: The Old Republic which is being developed by BioWare. There’s still no release date on this title, but it looks like it will be worth the wait when it comes out. Bring Me the Head of that Clone Trooper Captain!

These Little Star Wars Costumes come in three sizes: Newborn, Infant and Toddler! The costumes are 100% kid safe, in fact the Darth Vader outfit features a detachable velcro cape and a “helmet” headpiece made from fleece. Although I sort of have mixed feelings about indoctrinating such young padawans into the ways of the force without proper training. As a child recall a cheaply made Millennium Falcon toy that was cute, but I would have traded that clunker for this ship in a second. Now granted you’ll blow about $230, but this Millennium Falcon includes everything from secret smuggling compartments to an illuminated dejarik table with holo monsters: The Most Awesomest Falcon Ever “Really, this toy has it all.
